Thousands of Dutch fans have taken over France for the Women’s World Cup. USWNT fans, you’ve been warned ahead of Sunday’s game against Chile in Paris.

As a fan, you know you’ve done a good job cheering on your country when you go viral.

Thousands of Dutch fans are following their beloved Netherlands at the World Cup in France, and their national pride was on full display on Saturday after their country defeated Cameroon 3-1 in Valenciennes.

The orange interior of the Stade du Hainaut appeared empty at first sight, but a closer look revealed that the 25,000-seat stadium was almost completely filled with orange-clad fans.

That’s not all. Another 10,000 Dutch supporters, no room for them inside the stadium, crowded the streets to dance, wave flags and set off smoke bombs in celebration of the defending European champions.

U.S. fans, take note. The United States plays Sunday against Chile at the Parc des Princes in Paris and it is expected to be a sellout.

dark. Next. Women’s World Cup has been all about shattering records

The 46,000-seat stadium is expected to be filled with so many Americans that the USWNT will essentially be playing a home game. After French fans, U.S. supporters have purchased the most tickets among the 24 nations participating at this World Cup.

The American Outlaws, the U.S.’s largest group of fans with chapters across the country, are in France in force and will make their presence felt at the U.S.’s next match.

“The fans that have travelled and what they create for us in terms of support for our players is magnificent, they had to travel a long way and I’m sure at large expense,” U.S. coach Jill Ellis told reporters. “I’m sure they’ll get their money’s worth.”

A large U.S. crowd was on hand this past Tuesday in Reims as the U.S. put together a record-breaking 13-0 demolition of Thailand.

Fans who can’t make it to France will have to spend Father’s Day cheering on Alex Morgan and her teammates in front of the TV.
