If you don’t feel like cooking on the 4th of July, you might want to grab food on the way to watch fireworks, but will you be able to stop at Chick-Fil-A?

Chick-Fil-A is a very popular destination for chicken sandwich enthusiasts, and its fans know that the chain is big on giving their employees time off for holidays as well as Sundays. So will you be able to get Chick-Fil-A on the 4th of July?

As it happens, since the 4th of July doesn’t fall on a Sunday all Chick-Fil-A locations will be open. Hours will vary and it’s very likely that most locations will close earlier to allow employees a chance to enjoy the holiday festivities. That said, you’ll at least be able to get to your local restaurant on the holiday.

Chick-Fil-A is known for being closed on Sundays as part of the company’s values, and it also observes Easter, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day because those two days fall on Sundays.

Over the years there have been instances of consternation when Chick-Fil-A wasn’t open for a big event, like the Super Bowl, because the event fell on a Sunday. The company has shown some flexibility in that regard, but for the most part fans have come to expect the fast food restaurant to be out of play on certain days. Knowing that it is open for the 4th of July (when the 4th doesn’t land on a Sunday) is a good thing.

Since it will be open, fans can plan to bring chicken sandwiches and all of the sides to their BBQs or to watch the fireworks. It’s a great holiday meal for people who don’t partake regularly, especially if you’re looking for something other than burgers.

Be sure to call ahead to find out the holiday hours of the Chick-Fil-A location nearest you.
