Question 5: Submitted by Jake Mlodik: Can we expect Marlon Mack to be as good as he was in 2018 for Fantasy Football?

Answer: The Answer is yes, 100 times yes. Marlon Mack is going to go bananas in 2019. Entering the offseason this year, a ton of the fantasy football community pegged Le’veon Bell to the Indianapolis Colts as the top destination but did they forget how good Marlon Mack was in 2018?

He did not play in week one, and re-injured himself in week 2 and ultimately sat out until returning in week 6. So from Week 6 until the fantasy season ended, Mack had a bye week and missed one more game during that stretch. I bring this up because even though he missed 2 games during weeks 6-17, he was still the RB8 overall during that 12 week span.

If Marlon Mack stays healthy in 2019, his 16 game pace (thanks to his sample size in 2018), would project him at this.

16 Game Pace:

283 Carries

1,320 Rushing Yards

13 Rushing TD’s

24 Receptions

149 Receiving Yards

1 Receiving TD

That’s a top-10 fantasy running back right there ladies and gentleman. If he would have had that 16 game pace last season, he would have finished as the RB8 overall ahead of guys like Joe Mixon, David Johnson, and Nick Chubb.

He essentially owns the entire backfield when it comes to rushing, as Nyheim Hines is the James White of the Colts offense, strictly being a receiving back. The main reason I believe he can be as good as he was in 2018 is because not only did the Colts not sign anyone in free agency, they didn’t even draft a running back in the NFL draft either.

Most importantly, the Colts still have the best offensive line in football for Mack to run through. He is currently being drafted as the RB18, providing massive upside.
