A preview of the July 17, 2019 episode of NXT UK, featuring a main event of Kassius Ohno versus Mark Andrews.

Since officially debuting in NXT UK, Kassius Ohno has been single-minded in his goals. Find and expose all the fake British wrestlers — those who can’t even name three William Regal submission holds — while simultaneously proving himself, an Ohioan, to be the greatest living British wrestler. He’s the “Wrestling Genius,” basically a forum troll come to life.

It’s all petty nonsense, really. Except, Ohno has backed up his mouth in the ring, doing perhaps the best work of his current WWE run. Even though he’s a toxic jerk in his promos, his self-delusion is to such a degree that it becomes entertaining. In-ring, instead of being fodder for the likes of Aleister Black, EC3, Matt Riddle and so on and so forth, Ohno has mostly had matches against smaller opponents where he has exploited his size to dominate and — usually — win.

After most recently flattening Kenny Williams, Ohno now has set his sights on another agile millennial who probably prefers Shawn Michaels to “Gentleman” Chris Adams: Mark Andrews.

Andrews is considered one of the “Founding Five” of NXT UK, along with Wolfgang and all of British Strong Style. And yet — despite the fact that the brand Andrews helped build is the reason Ohno isn’t in NXT Prime, getting pinned by every entrant in the Breakout Tournament — Ohno regards Andrews as unworthy because he would rather come up with creative aerial moves than read a scholarly dissertation on grappling techniques.

Kassius Ohno used to be a hero to Mark Andrews. You can best believe Andrews has now torn down his Ohno posters and burned his Ohno Sacramento King’s jersey. Nobody’s hero should act the way Ohno has since arriving in NXT UK, belittling their co-workers and knocking out Ashton Smith, twice.
