College football stadiums: Ranking the 10 best game-day experiences
By Phil Poling
Unlike many of the other stadiums on this list, the Rose Bowl isn’t known for its home-field advantage it provides to the UCLA Bruins. Instead, the annual Rose Bowl Game and other events held there are what adds to the aura of the stadium. Home for countless Super Bowls, Olympic Games and Women’s World Cup games; it’s also been home to the Bruins since 1982.
Since 2010, the Bruins have posted a 36-17 record at the Rose Bowl in front of their 90,888 capacity crowd. They’ve failed to get fans to fill the stadium, though, and in 2018 saw the smallest crowd in 21 years at only 41,848.
Rumors have started swirling about a move from the Rose Bowl Stadium to the new Los Angeles Stadium in Hollywood Park. The NFL’s LA Rams and Chargers are expected to play there in 2020, so what’s one more tenant? I don’t think it’s a likely move, but anything is possible.
