EPL DFS – Value Forwards/Midfielders

Ross Barkley (Leicester @ Chelsea, $12) – If you don’t get it by now, I’m trying to steer you towards stacking this game (not necessarily because of this game itself but because of how little action we could see in the other game).  Despite a tough first game, Barkley had himself a good preseason for Chelsea.

Barkley started last game but made way for Christian Pulisic ($16) to enter after about 60 minutes.  If Pulisic starts this game, we’ll likely see Barkley on the bench which hurts our value.  However, if he can start again, he could make enough of an impact to hit value before Pulisic inevitably comes on.

Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace @ Sheffield United, $12) – Benteke battled injuries all last year, but he’s finally healthy now.  At one point in his career, he was a good striker, and now he’s looking to put an injury-riddled season behind him and start this one off right.  Crystal Palace actually scored significantly more goals on the road last year than they did at home, and Benteke has the team’s highest odds at scoring on Sunday.

His peripherals are almost negligible, but for only $12, you’re getting a guy with a solid chance at scoring.  James McArthur ($12) is a solid value play as well, with his peripherals and not goals though.  If you want to dig deep for value in order to stack the other game, Max Meyer ($10) is a viable punt.
