Fantasy Football 2019 – Top 10 – Eight

Andrew Luck

Luck had an incredible 2018 season after returning from a debilitating shoulder injury AND having one of the worst receiving corps in the league. In fact, his production dictates he should be higher than 8 on this list.

He seems likely to miss at least the first week of the season, and the Colts are notoriously closed about the status of Luck when he is hurt. He could very well miss far more time than a week, and you can’t have your starting QB miss that much time at the beginning of the year.

Luck has an easier schedule this year, and when he plays he should be a fantastic DFS option and week-to-week stud, but the lack of health is throwing up many red flags. Luck is a guy who can win you the year, but he comes with huge risk.

ADP: 71

Value: 4

Verdict: As QB5/6, drafting luck at the backend of the sixth round isn’t the worst thing you could do to your team, but it is a lot to bet on a quarterback coming into the season very banged up.

Fantasy Football 2019 – Top 10 – Seven

Russell Wilson

Wilson, who can be argued is a top 3 quarterback in the league right now, simply isn’t set up for fantasy success. While his immense talent and substantial ability with his legs almost lock him up a guaranteed top 10 QB spot in fantasy, his team and situation limit his upside.

The loss of Doug Baldwin removes his most trusted target, and while Metcalf should be able to help, he is a rookie and has many holes in his game. The emergence of Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny as a dynamic one-two punch in what will likely be the league’s most used run game for the second year in a row will limit Wilson’s upside further.

ADP:  88

Value: 7.5

Verdict: Wilson isn’t going to be the top QB this year, but being drafted as the QB8 in the mid-80’s means he carries a lot of value as a pick. There are few floors in the league as steady as Wilson for season-long production.
