Fantasy Football 2010 – Top 10 – Six

Drew Brees

The Saints, unfortunately for Brees, have moved away from the gun-slinging pass-heavy offense of yesteryear, but Brees is as resilient as they come and still put up great numbers in 2018.

In 2019, look for him to continue his amazing rapport with studs Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, while providing elite accuracy and yardage numbers. The addition of Cook at TE is a formidable weapon for Brees. The last time Brees had a reliable tight end he went nuts with Jimmy Graham, so Cook could have a huge year.

All in all, Brees is much like Wilson, a solid option who has a floor as steady as anyone else in the league but lacks the top upside of the best options.

In general, it seems like fantasy pundits are timid around Brees this year, I just don’t see it. The loss of Ingram removes touches from the run game, and this is a great receiving corps for Brees, who has shown no signs of aging.

ADP: 84

Value: 7

Verdict: Read Russell Wilson’s piece than come back here. That is all.

Fantasy Football 2019 – Top 10 – Five

Cam Newton

If there was a single situation that I think needs to be taken advantage of completely in fantasy this season, it is Cam Newton’s in Carolina. Fresh off a shoulder injury that crippled the former MVP’s ability to throw the ball deep, all reports say Newton is healthy as ever and the long ball looks incredible.

There could not be a better time for Newton to get healthy again. The reported ascension of Curtis Samuel has been well documented due to his impressive play at camp, and with DJ Moore being one of the most intriguing, electrifying young receivers in the league, the sky is the limit for Newton this year.

Let’s not forget that the human Swiss army knife, Christian Mccaffrey is always there to leave Newton with a way out. He provides Newton with yet anyone layer in which he can threaten defenses.

Now to mention the best thing about Newton; his legs. His ability to run is nearly unparalleled, and he can rely on for 500 rushing yards and maybe half a dozen scores. His floor in that department seems to be about 400 yards and 4 scores. Not bad for a QB.

ADP: 89

Value: 10

Verdict: Newton is being drafted as the QB10 currently. I don’t know if it’s the injury scare or something else, but injuries, while being a narrative that seems to follow Newton, haven’t really slowed him down ever. He is my single favorite pick for both value and upside at QB.
