Fantasy Football 2019 – One
Patrick Mahomes
Listen. Patrick Mahomes is not going to have another 5000 yard, 50 TD season. Patrick Mahomes is not going to set another record for the most fantasy football QB points of all time. Patrick Mahomes will probably not win MVP again.

What Patrick Mahomes may do is be the QB1 in fantasy again. While the touchdown rate is clearly unsustainable, Mahomes’ profile really lets the mind wander and dream about what could be. His ability to improvise, adapt, and uncork 60-yard throws while not even looking makes Mahomes a one of a kind player.
Mahomes also gets another year with Andy Reid, and from what I’ve seen, nobody is close to figuring that system out just yet. An offense that boasts one of the best WR pairs in Hill and Watkins (if he can stay healthy), and the best TE in the sport in Travis Kelce once again offers Mahomes all the weapons he could ever need.
ADP: 14
Value: 3
Verdict: Drafting a QB at the end of the first round isn’t smart. Unless he replicates his season last year, which the numbers, and logic, say is very improbable, he won’t return close to value. The gap from QB1-QB10 is usually much smaller than the gap from WR/RB1-WR/RB10. Get your position player studs while you can.
