Tonight on Monday Night Raw a new king will be crowned when Chad Gable meets Baron Corbin.

It’s time to crown a new King. Monday Night Raw will set the stage of our first King of the Ring winner in nearly five years. The two finalist may come as a surprise considering the pool of talent from the beginning. Through some serious bracket busters we are left with the surging Chad Gable, and possibly the biggest heel in the company, Baron Corbin, vying for the throne.

It’s fair to say nobody had these two in the finals, let alone a final four. Many fans saw Drew McIntyre or Ricochet hoisting the crown at the end of the tournament. Yet and still, the rise of Gable has been exciting to watch through every match. Meanwhile Corbin still draws the ire of fans just by appearing on our television screens.

This is why this match is the epitome of a true David versus Goliath story. Gable, who’s been ridiculed for his height the entire tournament facing off against a larger competitor in Corbin. Corbin has been the ultimate bad guy since defeating Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35 in Angle’s farewell match.

Defeating another Olympian would be a nice feather in the cap for Corbin. If Gable were to overcome the odds and become King he could dedicate the victory to his hero, Angle. The unpredictability of this match is what makes it truly fascinating. It’s disappointing that WWE couldn’t make room to feature the finals on the Clash of Champions card. The lack of doing so has taken some steam out of the renewal of this classic event.

The finals should close Raw tonight, with the eventual winner ushering in a new reign of dominance. Gable has flashed his star power by toppling every obstacle before him in the tournament, stating his case for a worthy singles run.

However, the company didn’t pit Corbin against Seth Rollins all summer for no reason. Corbin has the ability to draw nuclear heat from becoming King, reminding the WWE Universe about it weekly. Another notable fact is that there have only been two babyfaces to earn the honors in the past 15 contests. With that, the decision is easy to predict Corbin will be the 2019 King of the Ring winner.
