UFC Vegas 13: Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira fight card.

The UFC trains rolls on this Saturday when top-5 light heavyweights meet in the main event of UFC Vegas 13. No. 1 contender Thiago Santos makes his much-anticipated return, 16 months removed from his split decision title fight loss to Jon Jones at UFC 239. Across the Octagon from Santos will be fellow Brazilian and No. 3 contender Glover Teixeira.

Teixeira (31-7) has been on a roll these past two years, compiling a 4-0 record with two performance bonuses following stoppage victories over Ion Cutelaba and Anthony Smith. Teixeira is looking to get back into title contention with a win this weekend, something that has eluded him ever since he lost to former champion Jon Jones back in 2014 for the belt. Meanwhile, Santos (21-7) has been rehabbing his knee after he received surgery on it following an injury he sustained in his last fight with Jones. Santos was able to finish out the fight despite tearing his ACL, MCL, PCL and meniscus in his left knee.

With Jones out and Jan Blachowicz as the newly crowned champ at 205 lb, the chances are even greater that one of these two men could fight for the title depending on what occurs in this weekend’s main event.

The co-main event features a fun matchup at heavyweight with Andrei Arlovski vs. Tanner Boser. Arlovski is the former UFC Heavyweight champion, while Boser is just getting started in the promotion. Boser is 3-1 in the UFC and is coming off back-to-back knockout victories over Philipe Lins and Raphael Pessoa. Arlovski is 41 years old and surely on his way out of the sport, but has still been able to spoil the party for a few up-and-comers in years past.
