EPL DFS Top-Tier Attackers

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Bournemouth @ Arsenal, $23) – As Arsenal’s clear top choice attacker from a fantasy perspective, it’s not smart to ignore him in this matchup.  Bournemouth’s defense is less than average as they allow 1.7 goals per game, and Arsenal is scoring over 2 goals per game at home so far this season.  Aubameyang was one of the best scorers in the league last season, and he’s continuing that this year with 7 goals in 7 games.  He is tied for best odds to score on the slate at -167, and he always comes with brace upside in matchups like this.  He’s one of my favorite top-dollar plays on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero (Wolverhampton @ Manchester City, $23) – Aubameyang shares the best odds to score on the slate with this man.  He did not score after he came on as a substitute last week, but he has still scored in every EPL game he has started this year.  Manchester City is scoring over 4 goals per game at home this season which is an incredible average.  The Wolves defense this season is weaker than they were last year, so they’ll struggle in this away matchup.  Both Aguero and Aubameyang are elite plays, but basically impossible to get both.  Starting your lineup with one of them will be essential.  I prefer Raheem Sterling ($22) in GPPs as I believe he will go overlooked on this slate.  After a short goal drought, he scored last weekend at Everton and put up 38.3 fantasy points.  I was waiting to roster him until he was off the snide, and now I can get him in a good matchup.  A City stack should include Aguero or Sterling plus one secondary piece like Riyad Mahrez ($19), who will have to do more creating with Kevin de Bruyne out, or Bernardo Silva ($18).

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth @ Arsenal, $19) – Wilson is one of my top pivots off City and Arsenal attackers.  At first, I was a little wary of this matchup, but Bournemouth is scoring 2.0 goals on the road and 1.85 in all EPL games this season.  Arsenal struggled to keep opponents from scoring and they’re allowing a ton of chances created in recent games.  The best part is that Wilson is quietly on a heater right now with 5 goals in 4 games.  He’s averaging 33 fantasy points in that stretch, which is a full 10 points above his season average.  This is a spot where Wilson would take some decent ownership if it wasn’t for the amount of other popular names on this slate.  I feel comfortable playing him in cash games and GPPs since he should not be chalky.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea @ Southampton, $20) – Any EPL DFS Breakdown would not be complete without a shout-out to my Blues.  Chelsea is our 3rd favorite on the slate, and they get to face a weak Southampton defense that is conceding 2.0 goals per game at home this season.  Despite their struggles, Chelsea has actually scored the 3rd most goals in the league so far with exactly 2.0 per game.  Abraham was hotter than hot earlier this year with 7 goals in 3 games.  While he has not scored in the EPL in the 2 games since he has scored in other competitions which is nice to see.  Abraham only trails the trio of Aguero/Aubameyang/Sterling with 4th best odds to score on the slate.  Much like Wilson, Abraham should be less owned than he would normally be in this matchup with many people flocking to other top-tier studs.
