EPL DFS Mid-Tier and Value Attackers
Josh King (Bournemouth @ Arsenal, $16) – The mid-tier attackers on this slate are less than ideal, which is fine because then we can skip this section if we want and pay way down to afford top attackers. However, I do like Josh King some, especially in this matchup. I’ve already mentioned how Arsenal is allowing many chances created to opposing attackers, which is why I’m after King here. With Ryan Fraser ($12) likely not starting, Bournemouth doesn’t really have any midfielders that rely on chances created for their fantasy value. However, King has games with multiple chances created so we know he has some upside there. He will also add in some shots on goal and few other meaningful defensive peripherals. King has one of the safer floors for any mid-price attacker on this slate, and his potential is good too with his goal upside. If you want some cheaper exposure to Bournemouth, check out Harry Wilson ($14). Philip Billing ($10) is still really cheap on FanDuel. Arsenal is allowing opposing teams to collect plenty of peripherals, and that is exactly where Billings gets the large majority of his fantasy points. He’s one of the better value guys on Sunday.
James Ward-Prowse (Chelsea @ Southampton, $15) – You know it’s a tough mid-tier attacker section when a guy like Ward-Prowse is priced this high. However, this is actually a great matchup for Southampton. Chelsea has had major defensive struggles this year, especially on the road where they are allowing 2.7 goals per game. JWP isn’t known much as a scorer, but he does lead the team in chances created. He should be able to challenge Chelsea’s weak defense in this game and create plenty of chances. When you add in some of the defensive peripherals he’ll get, it gives him a good floor on Sunday and he’s perfect to pair with a goal-dependent stud. Danny Ings ($13) is the most likely goal scorer for Southampton, and at that price, I’m very interested. Taking a shot at a cheap Southampton midfielder like Nathan Redmond ($12) or Sofiane Boufal ($12) is another strategy I’m considering.
Bukayo Saka (Bournemouth @ Arsenal, $13) – The second Arsenal player that I like on Sunday is the youngster Saka. He now has 2 straight EPL starts in Alexandre Lacazette’s extended absence. He provided an assist last week against Manchester United, and he also had 2 assists in one of Arsenal’s recent Europa League games. This is a good matchup at home against Bournemouth for Saka to continue is bright recent play. He’s very affordable and has 3rd best odds to score on a largely favorited team. Nicolas Pepe ($16) has slightly better odds to score for Arsenal, but he’ll cost you another $3.
Phil Foden (Wolverhampton @ Manchester City, $9) – Foden looks like he could get his first Premier League start of the season, and he will be very popular if he does. Foden has a ton of talent and would be starting regularly on most EPL teams, but he’s stuck behind some of the best attackers in the league. Foden is +225 to score on this slate, which is far better than anyone you’ll find for the near-minimum price. You also will rarely be able to get exposure to an attacker this talented on a home team that could win by 3+ goals. Foden is superb value for your lineup in all formats.
