WWE NXT UK preview October 10, 2019: Watch online

Previewing the October 10, 2019 episode of NXT UK, which is set to feature Piper Niven taking on Jazzy Gabert.

From the moment she debuted in NXT UK, Piper Niven has been on a quest to prove herself the most dominant woman on the brand. As we’re all well aware by now, this meant stepping toe-to-toe with Rhea Ripley, she who previously held a monopoly on such a distinction.

As it stands, we have no definitive answer on who of that dominant duo is extra-most dominant. Niven defeated Ripley on the July 3 episode and that seemed like the end of the conversation. But then luggage was thrown, and in a non-TakeOver Cardiff match, Ripley defeated Niven. So now we’re stuck at 1-1.

In the meantime, a new challenger to the unclaimed dominant-woman throne has emerged. Jazzy Gabert has been nothing but a force of intimidation and destruction since arriving in NXT UK. Serving as Jinny’s muscle/means of ascending the ranks without having to actually do anything, Gabert has been swatting away Xia Brookside — approximately seven times — and others like flies.

Really, her clash with Niven was all but inevitable. We got small teases of a confrontation in the respective first-ever NXT UK women’s battle royal and six-woman tag match, but nothing beyond like, two minutes total.

Then, while giving an interview last week, Niven was distracted by Jinny, ambushed by Jazzy, and beaten down by the pair of them. Incensed, NXT UK general manager Johnny Saint took to Twitter to do the only thing he uses Twitter for: announce that he is making a match.

By decree of “official” — Mr. Saint is not verified despite our previous claims — tweet, we have been gifted a lady hoss fight (the first in a potential series too, as Gabert has also had  a recent run-in with Rhea Ripley, plus the aforementioned 1-1 series between Ripley and Niven). What’s at stake? Why only a potential claim to NXT UK dominance itself.
