Is Ashley P. the best season 24 pet? A Bachelor Nation Investigation
What if The Bachelor chose which contestants advanced based on the pets they have back home? It’s a stupid concept, but so it’s worth investigating.
It’s only fitting that we kick off this season’s Bachelor Nation Investigation series with quite possibly the most important research assignment of the season. Season 24’s Bachelor contestants all seem great, but how many of them have the care and compassion needed to care for a furry friend (not the fetish kind)?
There’s really nothing indicating that Pilot Pete is a huge fan of pets, but for the sake of seeing some adorable cuties, let’s assume he is. What if, and this is a biiiiig if, Pete was so into animals that he chose which contestants advanced based on their pets?
Inquiry: Which Bachelor season 24 pet is the best?
Let’s be clear — just about every animal is the best animal, but it’s very evident that Peter is not taking this approach. Two of the best Bachelor pets from this season were sent home on night one. Perhaps we should shift this research question to something more accurate…
Does Pete hate animals?
Noooo. That was a joke. Surely it’s only a coincidence that the only two contestants whose pets made national television on Monday just so happened to be sent home on opening night. Hmm.
For the sake of this investigation, let’s include the contestants who have already been eliminated. Both the true star of Monday evening, Ashley P., and Jasmine the hairless cat must be considered. Obviously, Pete isn’t picking his forever based on the kind of pet she has so they’re all fair game in our made up investigation.
Without further ado, let’s get right into the investigation.
Facts, findings and further evidence
Jasmine

A.k.a. “Sphinx and the City.” Jasmine is the cutest little hairless cat we’ve ever seen. She loves ice cream, is an avid Chicago Bulls and Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoys celebrating the holidays in style. Jasmine’s Instagram account (that probably has more followers than you) is run by Katrina, who was unfortunately sent home on night one. Still, because this is all so hypothetical and ridiculous, she makes our final four Bachelor pets.
Ashley P.
It took me about 45 minutes after Ashley P. was introduced to get over my excitement for her. It also took another 45 minutes after that to remember that Ashley P. was not an actual Bachelor contestant. That name just screams Bachelor. Despite her inability to legally compete on a romance show with humans, there’s already a massive push for her to become the next Bachelorette.
Ashley P. is a vegetarian who is devoted to giving her all to others. She’s there when you need emotional support, or a good burger. I’M KIDDING, ASHLEY P!
Despite very clearly being a cow, several of the contestants could not figure out what Ashley P. was, proving that the mandatory age for The Bachelor should be bumped up to at least 25 years old.
Titan
Strong name, Alayah! Titan is a very handsome Doberman belonging to Alayah Benavidez, whose grandmother Rose came up with an all-time intro that guaranteed her a night one rose (from everything we’ve seen, she’s also very great). It’s clear to all of us that Titan is a very good boy, worthy of many boops and pats.
We don’t know much about Titan (yet). We do know that he is a dog. There’s no such thing as a bad dog, so we hope Alayah (and Titan) make a strong impression on Pete on this Bachelor season.
Doodle

Okay, Victoria P.! This good boy right here has a chance to not only win, but transcend Bachelor/ette fame, as so few contestants do. In other words, Doodle is the Tyler Cameron of this season’s Bachelor pets. He also has a very unique eye condition that makes him extra adorable.
Some fun facts about Doodle:
- He’s a rescue pup (Well done, Victoria P.)
- He’s been acing his visual eye exams since adoption, making him a living miracle
- His mother is an early fan favorite!
If Peter was picking contestants based on their pets, Doodle and Victoria would be a surefire top three. We have a feeling that even though this isn’t the case, Doodle’s mom is going to make a long run in this competition anyway.
Verdict
The first impression rose goes to…
Ashley P.!
The real winner is all of us, who are introduced to all of these new Bachelor extended family members, and all of these beautiful pets who can do no wrong. Was it hard to pick one? Yes, of course it was. That said, there’s only one Bachelor pet that is currently leading the push to be the next Bachelorette, and for that, Ashley P. must be rewarded.
Congratulations Jenna and Ashley P, you may not have won Peter’s heart under the actual rules of The Bachelor, but your prize for top Bachelor pet will be far more rewarding (we’ll also send some hay bales for Ashley P.).
It’s worth noting that Jenna also owns a goldfish named George, which she added to her ABC bio. According to Jenna, he gives good advice.
Honorable mentions
Because who passes up an opportunity to see more Bachelor pets?! (If your pet didn’t make this list, I sincerely apologize and/or post more pictures of your animals on social media).
