Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on January 13 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: New Orleans at Detroit, Philadelphia at Indiana
7:30 p.m. ET: Chicago at Boston
8 p.m. ET: Oklahoma City at Minnesota
10 p.m. ET: Orlando at Sacramento, Charlotte at Portland
10:30 p.m. ET: Cleveland at LA Lakers

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Andrew Wiggins (vs OKC – $6,900 on DK; $6,700 on FD): Death, taxes, and Andrew Wiggins dominating the Thunder. As inconsistent as Wiggins is and can be, he always has a big game against the Thunder. I’ve watched this guy kill OKC for years and I will never bet against him in this matchup. He’ll be a risk for some but he’s a guarantee for me because I always trust my Thunder killers.

Damian Lillard (vs CHA – $8,800 on DK; $8,500 on FD): It’s an easy opponent for the Blazers and they feast on easy opponents. Most of the time. I truthfully have no idea what is going on with the Blazers on a night to night basis but this feels like a game they should dominate given that the Hornets are on a back to back and the Blazers are desperate for a victory. This feels like a big Lillard game given the circumstances.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (at MIN – $ 6,300on DK; $6,700 on FD): The Thunder is coming off a disappointing game against the Lakers. Expect a strong bounce back given the opponent. The Timberwolves haven’t played defense in months and SGA and the other OKC guards should be feeling it while playing angry. You can also go with Steven Adams, who might have an easier time in the paint with no KAT to deal with on the offensive end of the floor.

LeBron James (vs CLE – $9,500 on DK; $10,700 on FD): We’re banking on LeBron playing after missing Saturday’s game, but check his status before making any decisions. Assuming he plays, expect him to pick up where he left off prior to the sickness. Especially against the Cavaliers. Not that there appears to be any ill will towards Cleveland this time around, but the Cavaliers are a poor defensive team and LeBron has been on a tear all season, always being a triple double threat.

Domantas Sabonis (vs PHI – $8,600 on DK; $8,300 on FD): Sabonis had a big game against the Sixers a couple of weeks ago and now he doesn’t have to deal with Embiid in the paint. He’s always a double double threat and the Sixers are as inconsistent as they come as an overall team. Sabonis should be in for another big night with a double double and a high scoring output in this one.
