This week’s AEW Power Rankings feature champions on top and a closer look at who is on the rise in the men’s, women’s and tag team divisions.

For this week’s AEW Power Rankings, AEW Dark had two matches this week. This week’s episode of Dynamite took place on the Jericho Cruise. Fans were treated to a match for the AEW Tag Team Championship. The main event saw a No. 1 contenders match for the AEW World Championship.

With that in mind, here’s AEW Power Rankings for the week of Jan. 22, 2020.

Men’s Division

No. 1 — Chris Jericho (last week: 1)

Dynamite on a cruise ship happened simply because “Le Champion” has his own annual cruise. The world champion was in action with Santana & Ortiz against Jurassic Express. Jericho got the pin on Jungle Boy.

He joined commentary for the main event to find out who he’d be facing for his title next.

No. 2 — Jon Moxley (last week: 2)

Moxley was attacked by Jericho and the Inner Circle last week and suffered an eye injury. “The Purveyor of Violence” faced off against “The Bastard” for his shot at Jericho. Mox and PAC fought on the stairs and through the boat deck. Mox nailed the Paradigm Shift to become the new No. 1 contender.

No. 3— MJF (last week: ranked with tag teams)

The self-proclaimed “Salt of the Earth” wrestled Joey Janela. He broke up their technical start by poking Janela in the eyes. MJF also used the ref as a shield. Thanks to a distracted Janela, he was able to pick up the victory the the Double Cross.

No. 4 — Cody (last week: 4)

Cody interrupted MJF’s jawing, when he was reminded that one of the stipulations for MJF to fight him was that Cody can’t lay a hand on him. Cody couldn’t, but the Young Bucks could and they did. At Cody’s direction, the Bucks tossed him in the pool.

No. 5 — PAC (last week: 3)

PAC used Moxley’s eye injury to his advantage throughout the match. He used strikes, a spin kick and jawbreaker to punish his opponent. He tried using the Black Arrow twice, but never could. PAC looked like he might get the win with The Brutalizer, but Mox got a rope break. After PAC ripped off Mox’s bandage, he was hit with a Paradigm Shift.

No. 6 —  Joey Janela (last week: unranked)

“The Bad Boy” started off in a technical match before being poked in the eye. He was able to superplex MJF, but it wasn’t enough. Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford distracted Janela and he was pinned.

No. 7— Kip Sabian (last week: unranked)

Kip Sabian continued his mind games with Joey Janela by making out with Penelope at the top of the ramp. He got in Janela’s head just long enough for MJF to get the win.
