Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on January 23 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Washington at Cleveland
8 p.m. ET: LA Lakers at Brooklyn
10:30 p.m. ET: Dallas at Portland

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Luka Doncic (at POR – $12,300 on DK; $11,200 on FD): Luka should have no issue against the Portland defense. He’s a triple double threat in any game and this is a great matchup. He’s the top salary on the night but I trust him to be the top scorer on the night. The value is limited on a slow night but Luka is guaranteed high ceiling value.

Anthony Davis (at BKN – $9,500 on DK; $10,500 on FD): There’s plenty of value in this Wizards/Cavaliers game as there’s not much in terms of high salary. Beal has the highest ceiling on the Wizards though he could stand to do a bit more. This is the game for him to do it given how poor the Cavaliers are.

Bradley Beal (at CLE – $7,700 on DK; $7,500 on FD): Beal is coming off a great game against a tough Miami team. It’s a back to back but it’s also an easy matchup against a weak Cleveland squad. Beal will lead the way once again, turning in another big scoring night as he does a little bit of everything.

Collin Sexton (vs WAS – $6,500 on DK; $6,000 on FD): Elsewhere in this game, you can go with Sexton. I find him to have more value than Love although Love does have the higher ceiling with his double double and rebounding potential. But Sexton and Garland have high scoring potential and there should be plenty of scoring in this game.
