Billie Eilish’s Bond song is finally here, and you simply cannot listen to it enough.

One of the thrills of a new James Bond movie is experiencing the new theme song for the first time. From the anticipation of the artist reveal to the release of the song itself to ultimately stacking it up against the other themes, the hype for Bond begins with a needle drop.

Billie Eilish has only been alive for five of those moments but she’s directly responsible for the sixth. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter was tasked with creating the 25th James Bond theme song, alongside her brother Finneas, and the results are everything you’d expect from and Eilish X Bond collab.

Listen to the new track below:

Let’s not be prisoners of the moment, but there will be a knee-jerk reaction to place this somewhere on the best Bond songs of all-time. Instead of rushing to judgment, let’s just allow it to sink in settle onto the all-time list.

That doesn’t, however, mean we can’t talk about the best Bond songs and what Eilish is up against if she wants a spot near the top:

1. Goldfinger – Shirley Bassey

2. Skyfall – Adele

3. The Spy Who Loved Me (“Nobody Does It Better”) – Carley Simon

4. You Only Live Twice – Nancy Sinatra

5. Live and Let Die – Paul McCartney & Wings

What those songs have in common, beyond being bangers, is that they’re all pop songs by pop performers bent through the prism of Bond. They’re all radio-friendly tunes tailor-made to elevate Bond to the highest peak of the zeitgeist.

That’s unquestionably why Eilish was chosen to perform the song, as bringing Bond to the forefront of our minds is good for box office return, and there’s no downside in shifting the Bond audience to a different demographic younger and trying to capture a new audience.

No Time To Die hits theaters on April 10th, but you can expect to hear this song on a loop until then.
