Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on February 23 in NBA Daily Fantasy Sports on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s daily fantasy NBA lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

6 p.m. ET: Minnesota at Denver, Indiana at Toronto
7 p.m. ET: Washington at Chicago, San Antonio at Oklahoma City
8:30 p.m. ET: New Orleans at Golden State
9 p.m. ET: Detroit at Portland

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Nikola Jokic (vs MIN – $10,200 on DK; $10,500 on FD): No Towns means Jokic will have an easier time. The points and rebounds will be there and I expect the Nuggets offense to have an easier time against the Timberwolves defense compared to how they played against OKC. A triple double is on the board in what should be a huge game for Jokic.

Zach LaVine (vs WAS – $9,100 on DK; $9,500 on FD): LaVine is going to keep up his scoring pace, especially against the weak Wizards. He’s had some monster games against the Wizards this season and I still liken him to a post-break Devin Booker in that he’ll hunt big time for numbers.

Chris Paul (vs SA – $8,200 on DK; $7,500 on FD): If Schroder doesn’t play, that means more CP3 and SGA getting single opportunities, which helps both men. I’m a big believer in Paul in the second part of the season just because of where he’s at this season. Look for him to be aggressive as he racks up points and assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge (at OKC – $7,500 on DK; $7,600 on FD): Aldridge has never missed against OKC. He’s the ultimate OKC Killer and until I see him struggle against the Thunder, I won’t believe it. He’s going to get his shots and they always fall against this team.

Malcolm Brogdon (at TOR – $7,000 on DK; $6,100 on FD): Brogdon plays consistent basketball and isn’t going to hurt you at this price. The ceiling is relatively high because we have seen him takeover in games before, leading to a strong outing. He’s a nice take at a very good price that you can feel comfortable with.
