The latest James Bond film, No Time to Die, has officially been pushed back as the coronavirus. The delay is approximately seven months.

The wait to see the newest James Bond film just got a little longer; the film has been officially delayed as the producers behind No Time to Die announced that the film will be pushed back due to the novel coronavirus.

Originally scheduled to open in theaters this April, its U.S. release has now been moved to Nov. 25, with its UK release coming Nov. 12. The spread of the virus, which has had over 90,000 cases confirmed worldwide, has had the masses on high-alert, and that includes Hollywood. Now, we’re beginning to see the first signs of that with No Time to Die’s release being delayed.

The widely anticipated movie is going to be Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond, and promotion for the movie was already well underway. Fans got to see the first trailer for the film recently, and singer Billie Eilish (who was tapped to sing the 2020 Bond theme) released her song for the movie’s theme only a few weeks ago.

This is one of the first major movies to push back its release date due to the concerns of how the coronavirus will affect a movie’s outcome. With cases of the coronavirus first emerging in December 2019, it’s taken some time to see how the scope of the outbreak would affect Hollywood and moviegoers.

And while it may still be too early to tell right now (the box office has been fairly steady up until this point), for some, waiting is definitely a risk worth taking to ensure moviegoers will feel safe to head out to the theaters, especially when it comes to something as big as James Bond — Craig’s final James Bond, at that.

On social media, fans were less-than-delighted to hear the news. The seven-month wait period is certainly a long span of time. But due to the reason for the delay, most fans were understanding of why it had to happen.

With this delay, it inevitably has fans wondering what other movies, if any, are going to be delayed. Other big upcoming releases include Disney’s Mulan, Marvel’s Black Widow and DC’s Wonder Woman 1984.

One fan even pointed out that Craig is slated to host Saturday Night Live this week. Along with that, the star is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, so we’ll likely hear his reaction to the film’s delay sooner rather than later.
