Twitter reacts to Bears’ head-scratching trade for Nick Foles

The Chicago Bears are reportedly trading for quarterback Nick Foles and Chicago fans on social media do not seem enthused by the move.
News broke on Wednesday afternoon that the Chicago Bears are reportedly trading for quarterback Nick Foles and it seemed like all of Chicago and NFL Twitter were left scratching their collective head.
The quarterback position has been a fraught one for Chicago for a while now, and especially since they traded up to pick Mitchell Trubisky No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL draft. That was, of course, the same draft that included future superstar QBs Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, both of whom went after Trubisky.
There was some positivity in reaction to the acquisition of the former Super Bowl winning quarterback:
Foles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t care about last season, I’ve been on the Foles bandwagon for years. Let’s go!!!! https://t.co/EUXCX7T9MB
Bears fans trying to put a positive spin could think back to the team’s last playoff appearance, when Foles and the Eagles beat them in the Wild Card game at Soldier Field. On the negative side, that Jan. 2019 game was the last time Foles won an NFL game as a starter.
Nick Foles’ last win as a starting QB was in Chicago against the Bears in the 2018 Wild Card Playoffs.

He lost all 4 starts with the Jaguars last season.
But there was not much positive reaction going around on social media. Overwhelmingly, Bears fans and those across the NFL saw it as another strange move for a front office that has made a number of frustrating decisions.

Bears went from having the worst quarterback in the division to still having the worst quarterback in the division.

Bears gonna trade all their draft picks for QB’s and the. The Patriots pick up Trubisky off the trash heap and he wins 5 Super Bowls over the next decade.

The Bears didn’t have draft capital to just throw around. So they just threw it around. Awesome. Cool. Cool. Just gonna walk around the block 98 more times.

Why would we think Ryan Pace would make the right decision regarding the QB position? He’s proved he’s incapable of getting it right. Shame on me for thinking for a brief second he wouldn’t at least set himself on fire.

Trading for Nick Foles is a move Ryan Pace can say is to upgrade the position, bring in competition and depth. But it’s just worthless.

NOW all of a sudden, Trubisky is going to be motivated because of Nick Foles?! Just wasted a 4th round pick and didn’t address the position.
I am unglued.

Next. Bears trade for Nick Foles means end of Mitch Trubisky. dark
