2020 NFL Draft: 5 players Eagles could take in Round 1
1. Justin Jefferson, LSU receiver
Jefferson doesn’t run the same sort of electric times that make Ruggs such an interesting prospect, but he’s a better wide receiver. If the Eagles can grab him at No. 21 they should be celebrating in their War Room.
He’s more of a glider than a sprinter, but he still has the speed required to separate from really good defensive backs. He also has the size to make contested catches down the field. That’s key for a wide receiver who is going to thrive working with Carson Wentz.
Lining him up with Jeffery and Jackson would give the Eagles one of the most dangerous wide receiver groups in the NFL. Jefferson’s ability to make big plays on the outside or in the slot would give the Philadelphia offense a ton of flexibility. That’s bad news for NFL opponents tasked with stopping Pederson’s offense.
Jefferson has the talent and production to be WR1 in a lot of draft classes. The fact that he’s likely going to be the fourth wideout off the board in this draft speaks to the group’s insane level of quality. The Eagles need to take advantage at No. 21. Jefferson can develop into a franchise wide receiver in the Philadelphia offense.
