2. OLB Matt Milano

He’s been somewhat of an overlooked player during his three seasons with the club. But sparkplug outside linebacker Matt Milano certainly has the attention of his opponents.

The 2017 fifth-round pick from Boston College has seen his playing time and numbers increase each year in the league. And he’s been a member of two playoff teams in three seasons with the Bills.

As a rookie, the 6’0”, 223-pound defender racked up 43 stops along with six tackles and a forced fumble on special teams. Milano also picked off a pass, knocked down two others and returned a fumble 40 yards for a score.

After making five starts in 2017, he played and started 13 games the following year. He finished third on the club with 78 total tackles, one sack, totaled seven passes defensed and had just as many interceptions (3) as fumble recoveries (3).

This past year, there was a career-best 100 total stops, along with another special teams tackle. Milano knocked down nine passes, added 1.5 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.

So could the three-year pro challenge Tremaine Edmunds for the team lead in tackles in 2020? That would be quite the feat. But perhaps Milano is due for a very huge year and some much-deserved notoriety for his play and nose for the ball.
