4. G Jalen Tate – Northern Kentucky to Arkansas

One of the headliners left in the transfer portal is guard Jalen Tate. The Northern Kentucky product has been described as a game-changer by scouts who rave about Tate’s ability to get to the rim and score in the post.

Tate’s frame is also a huge asset since he has a ton of length, making him a matchup problem on offense and a disruptive force on defense. The Norse got a ton of production out of Tate who averaged 13.9 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game as a senior.

The best fit for the grad transfer is at Arkansas, which could use an elite athlete like Tate to match up with some of the tougher guards in the SEC. Pairing Tate with Isaiah Joe, whose availability was a key to the Razorbacks’ success last season, could give coaches around the conference major headaches.

Arkansas was a bubble team last season but the addition of Tate could push the Razorbacks into the NCAA Tournament this year. Tate could also benefit significantly from playing high-major competition as he tries to make a push towards getting drafted in 2021.
