4. Kansas City will constantly be on primetime

The NFL limits teams to no more than six primetime games per year. The Chiefs are going to max out.

Kansas City has the incredible combination of being exciting to watch, the defending Super Bowl champions and having a host of stars including the league’s best — and most dynamic — quarterback. The Chiefs will certainly have a half-dozen games under the lights, including the season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.

With all the primetime attention comes talk and buzz. Mahomes will have plenty of it, and considering his talents, he’ll provide a handful of plays people talk about for days. Maybe it’s unfair that a play in primetime counts more than a play on Sunday afternoon, but it’s reality.

If Mahomes was on an average team, he’d still be phenomenal. He would still be one of the best in the game, but would he get the attention? Not to the same extent.
