2. Turner & Hooch

If you are a fan of Tom Hanks and you haven’t seen Turner & Hooch yet, then you are clearly missing out. Hanks is at his absolute best in this film, giving us drama and humor in equal measure.

In the film, Hanks takes on the role of Scott Turner, a police officer who is not only very by-the-book, but downright uptight. And when there is a murder that needs to be solved, he ends up adopting Hooch, the dog of the murder victim.

With the help of his slobbery sidekick, Turner realizes that it might just be the pup who ends up breaking the case and finding who murdered his owner.

Turner & Hooch is a buddy cop movie done right thanks to the ridiculous relationship between Hanks and the dog. With their hijinx causing problems for this usually steadfast officer, this is a movie that delivers action, drama, a mystery of sorts, and comedy. And as far as dog movies go, this is definitely one that everyone should watch at least once, especially if you’re a Tom Hanks fan. (Just be prepared for a lot of slobber and maybe some excessive barking.)

When it comes to comedy, Hanks seems to have perfected the art, and this movie showcases why he is one of the best.
