4. WR Torry Holt

Holt was the sixth overall pick out of NC State in 1999, when the Rams lost Trent Green in the preseason and Kurt Warner piloted “The Greatest Show on Turf” to a Super Bowl win over the Tennessee Titans. But it’s what he did after that season that puts Holt on the franchise’s Mount Rushmore.

Holt topped 1,100 yards in every season from 2000-2007, with more than 90 catches in six straight seasons (2002-2007) and seven Pro Bowl selections in those eight campaigns. He led the league in receiving yards in 2000 (1,635 yards, with a league-high 19.9 yards per catch), and he led the league in catches (117) and yards (1,696) in 2003. In an era where Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Marvin Harrison and others were also making their hay, it’s easier than it should be to forget about Holt.

In due time, though there’s a case that he should already have his bust in Canton, Holt will take his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame alongside his notable offensive teammates. He is top-25 in league history in catches (920; 21st) and yards (13,382; 16th).
