Who are the most exciting players in Madden history? We rank them.

Former NFL coach and Hall of Famer John Madden took the creation of his now iconic video games series seriously. The first Madden NFL dropped in 1988 and was more for computers.

Two years later in 1990, the game hit consoles. From there, the series catapulted into one of the most competitive Esports gaming scenes, and easily became the most successful sport video game franchise ever.

Each year brings a much-anticipated cover athlete, new player ratings, added rookies, and updated rosters. Of course, the game developers continue to work on graphics and in-game mechanics to help ensure gameplay is also a success.

Madden 2021 will come out later in the summer, and last year’s MVP Lamar Jackson will grace the cover.

Now, with all those different years to choose from, who are the most unstoppable players in Madden history?

Best Madden players of all time: Randy Moss, WR, New England Patriots

To be fair, Randy Moss has always been fun to play with in any Madden he has been featured in. Even in today’s games, the star receiver can be used in the Ultimate Team game mode, and he does not disappoint.

Still, Madden 2009 had the best version of Moss. Rated a 99 and playing on one of the best offenses to ever use in Madden history, there was not much ’09 Moss could not do.

Moss had a speed rating of 98 and a 97 catch rating. He was also a great jumper, and he was a physical receiver who would torture any cornerback on the game. Big, fast, strong, and he caught everything remotely close to him. This version of Moss could not be stopped.

Calling four verticals with Tom Brady at quarterback, sitting in the pocket and then unleashing a massive throw down field to hit Moss was all you needed in this game. Brady was one of the highest-rated quarterbacks, and Moss was unstoppable.

This 2009 Moss was arguably the best receiver in the franchise’s history. Whether it was fade routes, lining up outside or in the slot, or deep throws, this Moss hauled everything in.
