Animation of Jorge Masvidal’s celebration post-KO of Ben Askren in EA UFC 4.

Jorge Masvidal produced one of the greatest highlights in MMA, let alone UFC, back in July 2019, when he launched himself into superstardom following a running knee that knocked out the then-undefeated Ben Askren in five seconds at UFC 239 — setting a new recorded for quickest knockout in UFC history.

And just as memorable as the knockout was Masvidal’s post-fight celebration, where he mocked Askren going down to the mat stiff and unconscious. And now, fans of this taunt are in for a nice treat in the new UFC 4 video game from Electronic Arts.

The celebration animation sees a weird camera cut on Masvidal in the center of the Octagon before he does a jig towards the camera, hits it and falls to the ground as if he had just got knocked out cold.

Masvidal is one of the cover athletes of EA UFC 4, as is current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. The closed beta version of the UFC 4 game just went out earlier this week to those who signed up for it a few weeks ago.

Among the announcements and improvements that EA has announced for the game include new environments to compete in: The Kumite, The Backyard, UFC APEX and Action Avenue. It also promotes a new submission system and improvements to clinch controls, as well as an overhaul to the game’s career mode.

Let’s just make sure that things like Kamaru Usman’s likeness are fixed up before the game is officially released to the public on Friday, Aug. 12.

Masvidal and Usman were in action just this past weekend as the welterweight title main event of UFC 251, with Usman winning by unanimous decision.
