The emergence of Deebo Samuel in the 2019-2020 Playoffs helped the 49ers make the Super Bowl. Deebo will continue that momentum and put the NFL on notice in 2020.

Now, this was before the injury news broke on Thursday. His new ADP will be much lower now that there is skepticism on what he will look like. Even more value to be had. I would be very cautious where drafting him depending on how long he is out. On to some analysis.

Deebo Samuel (currently ranked as: WR28): There’s not much to more to say about Deebo. We all saw him in the Super Bowl. In Super Bowl 54, Deebo finished with 5 catches on 9 targets for 39 yards, as well as 3 carries for 53 yards. Not bad for a rookie. It’s clear that the 49ers wanted to get the ball into Deebo’s hands. Deebo is explosive, fast, and extremely hard to tackle. With the departure of Emmanuel Sanders, Deebo is now the clear WR1 on this team. He’s going to get the ball early and often.

Deebo is not someone that you can shutdown easily with one corner back. It takes a game plan. He moves around in the formation trying to create match-ups he can exploit. And it’s not like he’s the only person you have to worry about on this offense: See Kittle, Mostert, Coleman, Bourne, etc. The Niners know they can’t run it every down, and need to be creative with their explosive playmakers. In all the ways the Niners use Deebo, it is easy to see how he will succeed far beyond his WR28 ranking at the moment. Bare minimum, Deebo will be a top 20 WR this year.

Next up, the Arizona Cardinals.
