Which receiver gets the most targets?

Mahomes can never go wrong with throwing the ball to any of his skill position guys on any given down. One of the good problems that Kansas City has is that everyone on the field is dynamic, but there are so many mouths to feed.

Let’s start on the outsides. Tyreek Hill’s nickname is “Cheetah.” That should tell you everything you need to know about how fast he is. Mecole Hardman runs 4.33 in the 40-yard dash and is a blaze in the open field. Even though Sammy Watkins is officially an elder statesman in the receiving group, he can still also break away from most defensive backs to take the top off of a defense.

If you think you can take away all of those weapons, try taking care of arguably the best tight end in the NFL in Travis Kelce. Too fast for linebackers and too strong for defensive backs, Kelce also has breakaway speed for the tight end spot. Kelce has taken on the role of being Mahomes’ favorite third-down target.

Once you have the seams and outsides covered, then the backfield can strike on checkdowns. Super Bowl LIV hero Damien Williams is back, and he will be paired with first round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU. While head coach Andy Reid has to figure out how to split carries between the two, both are more than capable as receiving threats.
