MLB games minus fans in attendance is still taking us some time to get used to, but in the meantime, live broadcasts have yet to adjust, as well. On the local broadcast of Monday’s San Diego Padres vs Arizona Diamondbacks game, viewers of all ages got a taste of on-field lingo that they definitely did not ask for. Let’s just hope Padres 23-year-old outfield Trent Grisham better hope his parents weren’t watching.

Yes, that is a giant f-bomb, which normally would’ve been blocked out by crowd noise.

Trent Grisham finally getting off to hot start

Grisham has every right to be excited, as he’s successfully fought against the slow starts that have routinely plagued his young career. This all began in the Cactus League this summer, and he’s since carried that over.

“Essentially, for me, it’s all routine-based,” Grisham said, per the San Diego Tribune. “I’m going to do the same thing every day because I know it translates. So that’s all I really do, is be the best at that routine every single day and have the right mentality … and let it translate.”

The Pads acquired Grisham from the Brewers this offseason for Eric Lauer and Luis Urias, so they’ll be counting on him to contribute from the left field slot.

So far, so good…even if it comes with an expanded vocabulary.
