LSU football coach Ed Orgeron will play you at midnight in a pasture if necessary.

Ed Orgeron has a lot to be excited about with the LSU Tigers despite the uncertainty surrounding the 2020-21 season.

Coming off a national championship last season thanks to Heisman Trophy winner and No.1 pick Joe Burrow and winning the Coach of the Year, Orgeron is anxious to prove last year wasn’t a fluke.

Speaking virtually to the media on Wednesday, Coach O had the perfect quote to sum up his excitement for the season, which may have to be pushed back due to COVID-19 concerns. In any event, Orgeron is ready and willing to play anyone, anywhere.

Coach O wants to play at midnight in a pasture if it means football.

“If they move it back, if they change it, who cares. Oregon quipped. “If they call us at midnight we’re going to play in a pasture.”

The man that people call “Coach O” gave a response regarding the season that fits his personality perfectly. He doesn’t care whether the season is moved back or changed, if the team was called to play at midnight, they would go play in open pasture. He would make sure his team is ready to play. This answer is so on-brand for Coach O who will be in his fifth season at LSU.

College football is in jeopardy. The Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, Clemson among others had a long grocery list full of players test positive for COVID-19. Michigan State and Rutgers quarantined their entire team after double-digit positives.

With the SEC expected to go to a 10-game, conference-only schedule, Coach O and LSU may have to wait a little longer before defending their title, but it looks like they’ll play in stadiums in the afternoon or evening rather than a pasture at midnight.
