Mookie Betts is dealing with a new injury.

Mookie Betts recently signed a mega-deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth $365 million with an insane $65 million signing bonus. This came after there was some speculation his time in Los Angeles would just be a quick stop before getting his big money elsewhere.

But he got paid in a big way and may have extended a middle finger or two back toward his old  home in celebration. Jokes aside, Betts is indeed dealing with an injured middle finger on his left hand. Let the humor continue.

Mookie Betts’s injured finger

The left hand is the dominant hand for Betts at the plate so that could be one explanation for the swelling. Yet this is still a fitting injury for someone who just became extremely rich. Maybe he can ask for a cast or splint that keeps his middle finger raised at all times. The team can place him right behind home plate in the stands for the perfect visual effect.

This will bring Betts to a halt after a hot start to the season. He recorded 13 hits in his first 10 games and also launched two home runs. The star also hit five doubles in his limited action.

Betts joins the club on a long-term basis after posting a 41.8 WAR with the Boston Red Sox in only six seasons. His mark of 10.6 earned him the American League MVP Award in 2018 and the Dodgers are absolutely stacked considering they also have 2019 National League MVP Cody Bellinger on the roster.

Betts is day-to-day with his joke-inducing injury but the Dodgers have the depth to continue winning without him for a few days. Now fans will be waiting to see if he ends up with a comical cast to show off to his haters.
