The Broncos are so excited about their 2020 season, they might’ve gotten a little overzealous

The Denver Broncos hot finish to the 2019 regular season — thanks in part to the outstanding play of then-rookie out of Missouri Drew Lock — has Orange Crush fans rushing to the interwebs to buy team gear before it sells out. Unfortunately for some of them, the team store looks like it could use a spell-checker.

A Denver team hat has been spotted with the wrong spelling of the franchise’s name. No, it’s nothing obscure, but we think you’re missing a letter.

Sure, it’s not a massive screw-up, but an embarrassing error to be posted all over social media nonetheless.

Error or not, the Broncos hope to be a main competitor to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West this season

On the surface, taking the West from the Chiefs may seem like a pipe dream, but consider the offseason acquisitions. Denver drafted at a position of need, taking Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler earlier in the process. They also signed Melvin Gordon — formerly of the rival Chargers — to pair with Phillip Lindsay, making for one of the best running back duos in all of football. Vic Fangio is sure to have his defense ready to go, but any and all potential for the Denver team starts up front, which could be a major issue given recent events.

Starting right tackle Ja’Wuan James has opted out of the season for COVID-19 reasons, and his backup, Elijah Wilkinson, was just activated from the PUP list. If the Broncos cannot keep Lock upright, there’s no guarantee he’ll be able to dispense the football to his wide variety of weapons, making all of this hype irrelevant.

Whether you’re rooting for the Broncos or the ‘Boncos’ this year, Denver is asking a lot of their offensive line.
