1. Lamar Jackson has the chance to be scary good

While Patrick Mahomes draws all the hype for being the future of the NFL at quarterback, Lamar Jackson has quietly become the league’s most dangerous passer. After the Ravens changed their entire scheme to fit Jackson’s skill set at the end of his rookie year pundits questioned whether or not his throwing would ever be good enough to win consistently.

Jackson proved all the critics long last season, delivering a season for the ages as he electrified the NFL with both his arm and legs. Teams struggled to find an answer to stop Jackson, who electrified the league on his way to the 2019 MVP award.

The playoffs have been a bit of a bugaboo for Jackson, who has lost his first two postseason contests, both of which came at M&T Bank Stadium. The loss to the Tennessee Titans in January was particularly discouraging since the Ravens fell way behind and needed to abandon the running game, forcing Jackson to win all on his own.

Jackson wasn’t ready to do that then but a full offseason of tutelage should leave him well-positioned to take another leap forward as a passer. If there is another level to Jackson’s game that can be unlocked the Ravens will find it, which would be absolutely terrifying for the rest of the league. The continued development of Jackson into an NFL star is the biggest reason why the Ravens are a huge favorite to win the Super Bowl this year.
