Lionel Messi goes full GOAT status with absurd twisting goal against Napoli (Video)

Messi scored an insane goal against Napoli in the Champions League. 

Argentinian soccer super-star Lionel Messi has been playing professionally with FC Barcelona since 2004, but time never seems to catch up with him as he continually scores beautiful goals.

And as his club was facing off against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match on Saturday, Messi netted yet another masterful goal.

In this goal, Messi dribbles through Napoli defenders as they desperately try to stop him without incurring a penalty. Messi does get knocked down, but is able to get up while still somehow maintaining control of the ball.

If that wasn’t already impressive, he then continues to dribble through defenders and nets a beautiful curving shot, while falling down, that sneaks past the goaltender.

What makes Messi truly great is that he is able to do things like this throughout entire seasons, and always seems to bring his magic to the pitch.  And throughout this season, Messi has had to carry FC Barcelona more than usual.

Messi scored 25 of the teams’ goals during league play, and the next closest player was Luis Suarez at 16 goals.

His squad was weaker compared to years past, and Messi even publicly blasted his team for not winning La Liga. 

Despite not winning its league, Barcelona still has a chance to emerge victorious in the Champions League, but they will require Messi to continue his magnificent ways.
