NBA DFS picks August 8: Will Phoenix finally lose?

I have noticed that the NBA DFS sites have decided whether or not to keep the early game on the main slate solely by the quality of the game. Today the Clippers and Blazers play at 1pm eastern, and both FanDuel and DraftKings have the game on their main slates.

Today there is no more than one game going on at a time. We have five games staggered throughout the day, just like Christmas. I really like having the NBA on all day every day. Any chance they keep doing this?

Let’s see who wont be participating in today’s festivities. I’m not putting the opted out guys on here anymore. I think we all know who’s not in the bubble by now.

Out: Domantas Sabonis (foot), Jimmy Butler (foot), Will Barton (knee), Montrezl Harrell (still out of the bubble), Bojan Bogdanovic (wrist), Kendrick Nunn (left bubble), Kelly Oubre (knee), Hassan Whiteside (hip), Aron Baynes (knee), Patrick Beverley (calf), Rajon Rondo (thumb), Elie Okobo (knee),

Questionable: LeBron James (groin), T.J. Warren (foot), Donovan Mitchell (leg), Jamal Murray (hamstring), Myles Turner (ankle), Mike Conley (knee), Goran Dragic (ankle), Dorian Finney-Smith (hip), Seth Curry (leg), Gary Harris (hip), Jeremy Lamb (knee), Alex Caruso (neck), Troy Daniels (hip), Doug McDermott (knee).

Knowing how LeBron is, I’d be surprised if he sat two games in a row. Unless the groin is really bugging him, which would be a disaster for the Lakers. They should take it easy with him, but if they leave it up to LeBron, I’ll lean towards him playing.

No one seems overly concerned with Mitchell’s leg, so I would bet he plays. Same thing with O’Neale.

The cash line was down a ways last night thanks to a lot of high-priced duds such as Embiid, SGA, and anyone in a Toronto uniform. My mid range lineups did the best with Bryant, CP3, LeVert, and Fox. I still had duds like SGA scattered everywhere, which capped the upside.

Back by popular demand is the trifecta, where I attempt to pick the top three point scorers of the day. I had none of the three yesterday. Raise your hand if you picked Ish Smith, Tobias Harris, and Troy Brown as your top scorers. I might believe you had Tobias in there, but not the other two

Today should be a little easier. I’m riding the teams that have a lot to play for. Give me Lillard, Luka, and Booker for the top three. It’s a guard’s world today.
