Jarvis Landry gets a ‘clean bill of health’ for the Browns
By Mike Luciano
Cleveland Browns receiver Jarvis Landry is totally healthy.
As easy as it is to laugh at the constant misfortune that circles around the Cleveland Browns, the stockpile of skill position players they have on offense, headlined by Odell Beckham Jr., Nick Chubb, and Jarvis Landry, remains one of the league’s most impressive. Landry’s health was a major question mark heading into the 2020 season, but it appears as if the former LSU star is ready to get out on the field with no limitations.
Landry was taken off the PUP list ahead of the 2020 season, as he received a “clean bill of health” before Kevin Stefanski starts his first season in charge in northeast Ohio.
Jarvis Landry should be in for another great season in 2020 under Kevin Stefanski.
While Stefanski earned praise for how he revamped the Minnesota Vikings’ running game, he was brought in to help Baker Mayfield return to elite status by working the same magic he used on Kirk Cousins. That should be great news for five-time Pro Bowler Landry, who caught 83 passes for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns last season despite the chaotic Freddie Kitchens running the show.
Now that the inexperienced, in over his skis Kitchens has been given his pink slip, the Browns are officially out of excuses. All of their skill position talent is healthy, Mayfield is now in Year 3, and Myles Garrett is the leader of a surprisingly solid defense. Even if they miss the playoffs, they need to at least hit .500.
Landry and the Browns know that the pressure is on in 2020. If they fail to improve upon their 6-10 finish last season, there could be some major upheaval. Having Mayfield’s safety blanket 100 percent healthy should be a major boost for Stefanski as he looks to move up the standings in a very competitive AFC North.
