Juventus appear to be ready to make major changes to their squad this summer. One seismic move could be selling Paulo Dybala to the highest bidder.

Paulo Dybala is the sort of player to really enjoy playing with a classy midfielder like Andrea Pirlo on the pitch. It appears that the pair aren’t quite as enthused about working together as manager and star attacker.

Juventus aren’t anxious to offload their Argentine dynamo this summer, but they have drastically changed their stance on selling him. Previously the Serie A giants were adamant they would keep hold of him in the face of any incoming bid. Now, according to Gazzetta, the Old Lady are willing to part with Dybala if they receive a bid of £100 million for his services.

No specific mention of discord between Dybala and Pirlo is cited in the reports, but it is pretty obvious that the managerial change from Maurizio Sarri to the former Juventus midfielder is a key factor in the club’s philosophical change. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Dybala or Pirlo is the personality responsible for putting the talented attacker on the club’s transfer list. It does, however, seem much more likely that Dybala would want to play for a more established manager rather than Pirlo opting to employ a less talented front line.

The big question for clubs all across Europe to answer now is whether or not any player is worth £100 million in the face of the current pandemic. Club revenues are on the decline all across the continent which has served to depress transfer prices in recent weeks. Even so, the news that a young player of Dybala’s quality might be available could tempt a club to stump the fee required.

The change of thinking on Dybala is worrying news for Juventus supporters. It’s hard to imagine Cristiano Ronaldo being happy with the departure of one of his most talented teammates. Dybala’s exit from Turin could easily be followed by his Portuguese teammate.

Dybala’s exit from Juventus is not imminent, but it is the sort of move that could pick up steam rapidly. It’s definitely a story that football fans all across the globe should monitor closely in the coming days.
