LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are both all-time greats, but who would you take with everything on the line?

Sports culture in 2020 seems to have fallen in love with aggressive comparisons. But, while “Jordan vs LeBron” and “Montana vs. Brady” are fun, they seem to remain vague in terms of criteria and are generally one-sided for anyone who’s actually been watching.

That’s why FanSided has chosen to hone in on the one thing that’s most valued and hardest to quantify in a professional athlete: The clutch gene.

LeBron James vs. Kobe Bryant: Who’s more clutch?

In our newest video series, we’ll explore every sport looking for two comparable players, breaking down where they’re skills stood with the game in the balance. Because of all the great careers out there, only a handful of people had enough ice in their veins to get the job done time and time again when standing at the brink of defeat.

So for the next few months, we won’t be asking who’s the GOAT, or who’s career was better, but rather who is more clutch?

Our first episode pits LeBron James not against Michael Jordan, but his clone… the late Kobe Bryant. With both holding an extensive catalog of late-game heroics, we dive into the argument that is “Who’s More Clutch: Kobe or LeBron?”
