Magic power forward Jonathan Isaac will miss the 2020-21 season after suffering his serious next injury this summer.

The worst fears have arrived for Orlando Magic fans everywhere. When Jonathan Isaac went down with a knee injury and laid on the hardwood in excruciating pain, hearts broke all over Orlando for him.

It’s seen been announced he suffered a torn ACL, which is obviously a bummer for the power forward. This week, it’s been confirmed by the team that Isaac will now officially be out for the entirety of next season, as he looks to work his way back from such a serious injury.

You’ve got to feel bad for the 22-year-old Isaac. He was in the middle of a strong campaign for Orlando, which was eliminated by the Bucks in the postseason, before he went down with his ACL tear. On the year, the 6-foot-11, 230-pound forward was averaging 11.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, both career highs.

Isaac was looking to wrap up his third season in the NBA before he went down. Isaac underwent knee surgery in early August, which the team said was successful and went without any issues.

Now, Isaac will rehab around the clock with the hopes of making sure he’s back to 100 percent healthy in advance of the 2021-22 season. Knee injuries like this of course are tricky, and the last thing the Magic would want to do would be to rush him back too soon.

That’s why they’re not leaving any kind of window open to bring him back next season before he’s ready to rock. They want his knee to get fully healthy before he’s sprinting up and down the court again and attacking the glass and rim with the usual ferocity everyone became so used to watching on a consistent basis.
