2. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls finally made the obvious decision to fire coach Jim Boylen, leaving aside the reported financial concerns of owner Jerry Reinsdorf. The new front office is completing a first round of interviews, and Donovan can instantly be added to the list.

Donovan’s resume stands above most any other candidate the Bulls have reportedly been considering. The list of rumored candidates is filled with NBA assistants–Wes Unseld Jr., Ime Udoka, Darvin Ham, David Vanterpool, Stephen Silas and even Boylen assistants Chris Fleming and Roy Rogers have been regarded as potential candidates. Former Nets coach Kenny Atkinson was presumably among the first round of interviews too.

The question is if Donovan would want the Bulls. They are entering a rebuild, which is something he wanted no part of in Oklahoma City. But it appears they plan to find out if their interest is at all mutual, and it wouldn’t be a full coaching search without due diligence on Donovan.
