Charlie Blackmon just became Rockies MVP with a walk-off grand slam.

It’s the moment in baseball that gives you chills no matter what team you are rooting for. The Colorado Rockies secured the win on Friday night when Charlie Blackmon hit a walk-off grand slam against the Los Angeles Angels.

The score was tied 4-4 heading into the bottom of the ninth and Blackmon perfectly timed his swing to send the pitch soaring deep into right field.

Charlie Blackmon is a hitting wonder

Coaching staff spoke of Blackmon’s talent just a month ago.

“This doesn’t happen by accident or by just being hot,” Rockies manager Bud Black said (h/t Denver Post). “Charlie studies, Charlie educates himself on the opposing pitching staff, he makes educated choices on pitches he thinks might be coming in certain counts, or certain parts of the game, or by certain pitchers. All these things add up to giving him the best chance to get a hit.”

The Rockies play the Angels on Saturday and Sunday as well.
