Two pit bulls owned by former NFL receiver Demaryius Thomas allegedly attacked a woman and her dog.

Former NFL receiver Demaryius Thomas is the subject of a police investigation after his two pit bulls allegedly attacked a woman and her dog in Georgia this week.

The woman told local news outlet WSB-TV she was standing in her front yard with her dog Berkley when Thomas’ two pit bulls attacked.

She suffered bites on her arms while protecting her dog, who needed surgery after the encounter.

“They shaved his entire body and there’s punctures and tubes all in him,” she said.

Police reportedly have video of the incident which was recorded on a neighbor’s security camera. They are still deciding if charges

According to the woman’s mother, Thomas had been previously warned about his dogs roaming the neighborhood.

Demaryius Thomas is a free agent after 11 years in the NFL.

Thomas last played in the NFL for the Jets in 2019, but he entered 2020 as a free agent and has yet to find a team. From 2010 to 2018 he played for the Denver Broncos. He was a four-time Pro Bowler with five-straight 1,000-yard seasons.

In 2018, the Broncos traded Thomas to the Texans but he suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear late in the season. They cut him in early 2019 and he was ultimately signed by the Patriots. They, however, traded him to the Jets.

Thomas went on to catch 58 passes for 433 yards and one touchdown before his one-year deal expired.

Before the alleged attack by his dogs, the biggest reason for his name to make headlines was for speculation over the Jets’ potentially resigning him.

This isn’t the first time Thomas has ended gotten into trouble with the law though. In 2019 he was charged with vehicular assault and reckless driving after crashing his car while going 70 mph in a 30 mph zone. He pled guilty to careless driving for the incident.
