The preseason AP Top 25 included Big Ten and Pac-12 teams, but now that the season is here, the AP Top 25 this week will look really weird.

The preseason AP Top 25 featured nine teams from the Big Ten and Pac-12 that aren’t playing this fall. The Week 2 AP Top 25 will no longer include the teams not playing this fall so the new set of college football rankings is going to look dramatically different now that the ACC and Big 12 have begun their seasons, or at least.

In addition to the nine vacancies left open by the Big Ten and Pac-12, losses from No. 23 Iowa State to unranked Louisiana present 10 openings to be filled in the Week 2 AP Top 25. This is going to be weird and it’s only going to get weirder as the season continues, but here’s my attempt at what the Week 2 AP Top 25 poll will look like when it’s released on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

There won’t be any change at the top with Clemson winning in convincing fashion at Wake Forest. The only drama at the top is how many first-place votes Dabo Swinney‘s team collects. Ohio State, which was No. 2 in the preseason, had 21 first-place votes. Alabama had two first-place votes and LSU had one first-place vote.

It’s hard to envision LSU keeping that vote after Ja’Marr Chase led an exodus of opt-outs in the past two weeks. Alabama didn’t do anything to lose their votes, but if all the Ohio State votes go to Clemson, the Tigers would stand to receive 60 out of 62 first-place votes.

There are 10 new teams in the Week 2 AP Top 25 compared to the preseason poll without the Big Ten and Pac-12 teams no longer under consideration
