Star Raiders right tackle Trent Brown went down with a calf injury and that’s bad news for the Raiders.

The start of the new season for the Las Vegas Raiders is already off to a bit of a rough start out on the injury front. That’s because in the first quarter of their season-opener against the Carolina Panthers, star right tackle Trent Brown went down with a calf injury.

While the hope was that he’d be able to shake it off and get himself back on the field to try and protect Derek Carr, that won’t be the case. Las Vegas has already come out and announced that Brown will be out for the rest of the game.

The Raiders offensive line would face a big problem if Trent Brown misses significant time

It goes without saying, but Brown’s injury so early on in the season is one of the last things Jon Gruden was hoping to see on Sunday. Entering his second campaign for the Raiders, Brown is coming off a superb 2019. He started 11 games for the team last year, earning Pro Bowl honors.

With the Raiders now in Las Vegas, Carr and the rest of the offense are looking to bring plenty of excitement to their new fans in Sin City. However, with Brown already battling issues with his calf, it could end up having a negative impact on the team’s ability to protect their veteran quarterback and establish the run game.

For now, Raiders fans everywhere can only hope that Brown is able to get himself some medical help and get back to full health as soon as possible for the Raiders. As things stand, though, there’s definitely plenty of worry surrounding the massive 6-foot-8, 380-pound hoss.
