With most of week 1 in the books, here are the top players you should add to your fantasy football team in week 2.

After months of waiting, the 2020 NFL season is here. We saw the Super Bowl defending Kansas City Chiefs start the season with a win on Thursday but it’s the first Sunday that officially kicks off the season. After the nine early games finished, there was a lot of news for fantasy football owners to digest.

We saw the usual suspects put up big numbers. Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers had multiple passing touchdowns. Josh Jacobs had three rushing touchdowns and both Atlanta Falcons receivers put up over 130 yards each.

However, outside of the stars, there were plenty of players who performed well in week 1 that need to be rostered heading into week 2. The majority of these players will be available in over 50 percent of ESPN leagues, but check your league if they’re available.

So let’s go over one quarterback, five running backs, and three pass catchers that you need to put claims on this week.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Quarterbacks

The choice is obvious, as you need to mash the claim button for Gardner Minshew.

Minshew Mania is alive again. After the Indianapolis Colts took an early lead, Minshew led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 27-20 win. He completed 19-of-20 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Yes, the passing yards are not ideal but he didn’t commit any turnovers. I’ll take that over what Carson Wentz did in week 1.

Minshew and the Jaguars travel to Tennessee in week 2 in what could be another high-scoring game. Minshew is rostered in just 15 percent of leagues.
