Davante Adams, Chris Godwin and Kenny Golladay are dealing with injuries.

Injuries have been a big story in the first two weeks of the 2020 NFL season. This was excepted given the lack of a preseason, as it’s hard to get into football shape without playing football. Three star wide receivers of note are dealing with injuries, but might be ready to roll in Week 3. Who will be better on Sunday between Davante Adams, Chris Godwin or Kenny Golladay?

The Fantasy Footballers addressed the good news that all three of these fantasy football stars might play this week. Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury, but has played in both games with the Green Bay Packers. Godwin missed Week 2 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to being in concussion protocol. Golladay looks to be good for his season debut for the Detroit Lions.

Adams’ status for Week 3 is the most up in the air, as Green Bay takes on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football. Godwin should be good to go in the Buccaneers’ late afternoon window game vs. the Denver Broncos. It feels increasingly more likely Golladay will play his first game of the 2020 campaign vs. the Arizona Cardinals in the late window as well. Who will do the best?

Chris Godwin has the more favorable matchup of these three wide receivers.

Though all three players are fortunate to not play in the early afternoon window in Week 3, Godwin has by far and away the best matchup. Denver is 0-2 and so many of its best players are dropping like flies. This could also be the first time the Buccaneers will have both of their star receivers fully healthy heading into a game for a season. Tom Brady will have to love that.

While we’re not sure just how good the Cardinals are, Golladay immediately becomes Matthew Stafford’s No. 1 receiving target again upon his return to the lineup. We think Arizona is good, but the San Francisco 49ers don’t look to be as good as they were last year and we don’t think the Washington Football Team is even a .500 team at this point. Golladay could have a big day here.

dark. Next. Saquon Barkley is done, how do Giants adjust without him?

As for Adams, he’s playing in the most high-profile game of the Sunday slate. The Saints desperately want to avoid falling to 1-2 after losing on the road to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. Green Bay will need Adams to play well to win in New Orleans. Though he might, Godwin has the better matchup this week and then probably Golladay ahead of him.
